THE DIDON FIELD SUCCESS STORY
Offshore block located in the South
of Tunisia at 70 meters' depth in the Gulf of Gabes
Medex Petroleum Ltd entered in the concession and became the operator in 1996 with a successful development plan
First oil from Didon Concession
in May 1998
Use of refurbished equipment together with know-how enabled the development of the field at a low cost
(USD 36 M), a third of the cost evaluated
by other companies
4th quarter of 2004 decision was made to go ahead with the second phase of development by adding
a fixed platform in order to increase the production rate
from 12 000 b/d to 20 000 b/d (plateau of 5 years)
